The ‘Anaconda’ Franchise Is Getting A Reboot

Late last week, news broke that Columbia Pictures is looking to reboot the Anaconda franchise for a new generation. Tomb Raider and Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty has been tasked with writing the script, which is reportedly going to be a complete reimagining of the franchise in the vein of The Meg. Giant snakes fighting hapless victims? Sign us up.

Tom Holland’s Love For His Dog Remains The Purest Thing In This World

The ever-charming Tom Holland rolled up with the cast to the London premiere of Dolittle, but along with himself, he brought a furry friend: his beloved dog, Tessa. The actor’s love for the Staffordshire terrier has been long-documented, with Holland regularly bringing Tessa along on red carpets and to press events. It might not be as pure as a pile of puppies themselves, but it’s close.

Paramount Has Two New Transformers Movie Projects In The Works

Just like Columbia Pictures rebooting the Anaconda franchise, Paramount is looking to revamp the Transformers franchise with two new projects in the works. One script is being written by Joby Harold, who co-wrote King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and co-wrote Zack Snyder’s upcoming Army of the Dead. The second project is being written by James Vanderbilt, whose writing credits include David Fincher’s Zodiac and the Amazing Spider-Man movies. Not many details have emerged, but sources say the studio sees it as an opportunity to build out multiple storylines in the Transformers universe.

And The Green Hornet Is Under New Management

Speaking of reboots and revamps, it looks like The Green Hornet is following suit. Former Marvel president and COO Michael Helfant has plans to reboot the Green Hornet series under his Amasia Entertainment banner. The last time we saw the Green Hornet was in 2011’s movie bomb starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. But if anyone can do it, it’s Helfant, a man who helped oversee Marvel when Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were launched.

Tom Cruise Continues To Defy Death, Do Dangerous Stuff

If Tom Cruise had a middle name, it would probably be “Danger.” Once again, the actor and stuntman is back in the news for his adrenaline junkie ways. Apparently, one of the aerial stunts in Top Gun: Maverick is so dangerous, Cruise needed to get special clearance from the United States Navy in order to film it. Talk about commitment to a role.

‘F9: The Fast Saga’ Drops Its First Trailer

As I mentioned last week, this week Universal dropped the first trailer for F9. It is, as expected, completely extra and over the top. I highlighted the 13 most ridiculous moments from the trailer, but in case you haven’t seen it yet, here it is:
