Hollywood was on temporary pause but productions are gearing back up, release dates continue to be tweaked in preparation for theaters reopening, and things are slowly starting to return to normal – or at least, our temporary new normal. Entertainment news has once again begun to drop with regularity. In case you missed it, here’s all the best news and tidbits from the last week.

Let’s hop to it.

Scarlett Johansson Says ‘Black Widow’ Tackles #MeToo And #TimesUp Head-On

It’s been 10 long years since Natasha Romanoff first entered the MCU and 10 long years that fans have been fighting for her to get her own solo film. It’s finally happening now and everything we’re reading has us even more intrigued. From what Scarlett Johansson says, Black Widow will be extremely timely and touch upon themes addressed by the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. According to her, it was important to director Cate Shortland to make “a movie about women who are helping other women, who lift other women up out of a very difficult situation.” Count us in.

Francis Ford Coppola Recutting ‘Godfather: Part III’ To Make The Movie He Wanted 30 Years Ago

Just in time for its 30th anniversary, director Francis Ford Coppola has announced he’ll be recutting his controversial The Godfather: Part III, which will then get a limited theatrical release before hitting VOD and Blu-ray/DVD. The third Godfather movie, which was made a full 16 years after Part II, is famous in cinema history for being a somewhat cursed production. One Coppola and screenwriter Mario Puzo never wanted to do and that was plagued with being rushed, a string of disasters forcing Coppola’s hand. But Coppola says this director’s cut, which he’s titling The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, says it will reflect the title and vision he and Puzo wanted all along. Among the significant changes are that it will get a new beginning and a new end, certain shots and scenes being rearranged, and new music cues. We’re intrigued. We’re definitely intrigued.

It Sounds Like Chloe Zhao Got Weird With Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ And We’re Here For It

So far, we don’t know much about Marvel’s mysterious Eternals movie. But that changed when director Chloe Zhao sat down for an interview with THR to talk about her upcoming projects, including Eternals. And she shared some snippets that were interesting, indeed. For starters, she says Marvel was extremely collaborative and everything she put into the movie was exactly what she wanted to do. For example, she brought her manga roots and deep love of manga and anime into it. Another cool tidbit is that there will be a giant Bollywood dance number, which overjoyed co-star Kumail Nanjiani. We have no idea why there’s a Bollywood dance number, but that’s amazing. Everything we’ve heard about this movie sounds like Marvel allowed Zhao to get weird with it and that’s incredible. We’re now impatiently awaiting the first trailer.
