Taylor Swift kicked off the big event concert movie trend with her Eras tour, then Beyonce followed suit by bringing her Renaissance tour to theaters. Now, it’s Usher’s turn as he releases his Usher: Rendezvous in Paris concert event movie in theaters this week. The event, coming to you through Trafalgar Releasing, was filmed at La Seine Musicale in Paris in 2023 during Paris Fashion Week.

Usher Raymond has been captivating people for decades with his smooth vocals and even smoother dancing, being one of the biggest R&B stars of the ’90s and early ’00s, and he still continues to sell out arenas around the world. Just like Usher, his Rendezvous in Paris concert is unique and memorable, with the concert movie incorporating one part concert, one part documentary, and one part Parisian burlesque circus. In that way, it blends the showmanship of his Las Vegas residency with the seduction of Paris. Said Usher,

Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans. I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”

The concert movie will also reveal brand-new concerts and special effects, so even fans who have been to one of his recent concerts will be surprised by all the new twists Usher brings in Rendezvous in Paris. He’ll incorporate songs from throughout his 30-year catalogue, including “Yeah!”, “My Boo”, “Love in This Club,” and others, in a greatest hits compilation in an hour-and-a-half extravaganza.
