Sonic the Hedgehog fans disappointed with Sonic’s new look? Hollywood has heard you loud and clear.
The first trailer for Paramount’s movie based on the SEGA game hit the internet this week and the internet made their passionate and negative reactions to Sonic’s look (and human teeth) known. Sonic director, Jeff Fowler, was listening to the echo chamber and he took to Twitter to share what he is going to do about it.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast ?✌️

Paramount has yet to confirm what these “changes” will all entail, or if they are happening at all and to what extent. Millions have already been sent to finalize the look we’ve seen already, millions more will have to be spent to change it seven months prior to the film’s release. But will they change all the merchandise, too, that’s already in the works or has been made? Is all this time and money worth it? Is the character’s look really the thing that is impeding audiences from engaging with this movie; does the movie stand to gain that much at the box office if filmmakers change the character’s look to be more like the below?
