Valentine’s Day is around the corner and love is in the air… but maybe keep your mask on just in case. Romance, or at least the best romantic movies, start out with a meet-cute, but sometimes real life rivals great rom-coms. Every so often when the stars and chemistry both align, a pair of actors meet on set and fall in love while shooting. It always makes for a great “how we met” story, even if they don’t stay together forever.

Here are some real-life Hollywood couples who fell in love while acting together on the set of a movie.

Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively – Green Lantern

The beautiful and down-to-earth couple first met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010. They were both with other people at the time so they remained friends for a while, but when they were both single, they couldn’t deny something was there between them. They were married in 2012 and have been going strong since, having welcomed three daughters into the world and teaming up for a number of charitable projects and philanthropic endeavors together.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie – Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Brangelina, the on-set meet-cute heard ’round the world – or at least in the tabloids. They may no longer be together, but in the decade-plus they were together, they made it count. They first met on the set of 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith and their real-life chemistry was palpable on screen. Their life together was full of children, with Pitt adopting Jolie’s three adopted children as his own, the couple adopting a fourth child together, and later, Jolie getting pregnant with twins. They divorced in 2016, but their legend lives on.

Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith – The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Most celeb couples are private, but Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are one of the rare couples who will put it all out there, relationship warts and all, for the world to see. It’s a testament to the longevity of their relationship that they keep it real and are always open about how much work it takes. The couple met way back in 1994 when Pinkett-Smith auditioned to be on Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Funnily enough, they would have met sooner – Smith had seen her on A Different World and knew he had to meet her – only to meet his future wife, Sheree Zampino, instead. Once Zampino and Smith separated, Will and Jada started dating, getting married in 1997. They’ve been together ever since and have two kids, Jaden and Willow, who may be as famous as they are.

Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn – Woman Of The Year

Not every Hollywood meet-cute ends in marriage and a sanctioned relationship. Sometimes, the most long-lasting relationships are the forbidden kind. Such was the case with silver screen legends Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, who met on the set of Woman of the Year in 1942. Their attraction and chemistry were undeniable and even though Tracy was married, they began an affair that lasted for 25 years. Their passion translated to screen, with the duo starring in nine movies together over the decades. Though their relationship was an open secret, it wasn’t until Tracy’s wife died in the early 80s that Hepburn finally publicly acknowledged their affair.

Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder – Edward Scissorhands

Johnny and Winona met on the set of Edward Scissorhands and immediately became the It Couple of the early 90s, dating for four years from 1989-1993. Their ultra-cool, slightly goth vibe defined the 90s and their passionate romance was an intense one. Depp got a tattoo that read “Winona Forever” and director John Waters had to talk them out of a whirlwind marriage due to the fact Ryder was only 19 at the time. Their romance only lasted four year, but their dark Hollywood royalty vibes will last forever, long may they reign.

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz – Vicky Christina Barcelona

Sometimes, love takes a meandering path. Such is the case for Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. The couple first met on the set of Jamón Jamón all the way back in 1992, but it wasn’t until shooting Vicky Christina Barcelona 15 years later that they actually fell in love. They got married in 2010 and have two kids together, Luna and Leo.

Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell – Swing Shift

Truly one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples, as well as one of its longest-lasting, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have proven you don’t have to have a traditional relationship or be married to make it work. Both stars from a young age, the couple first met when they were child actors on the set of a Disney movie in 1966. It wasn’t until they worked together on 1984’s WWII-set romance Swing Shift that they fell in love, however. The couple famously agreed never to marry, but 35 years and a trio of kids later, they’re still going strong. Who needs rings when you have real love?
