2019 Oscars: All The Academy Award Nominations |

The nominations for the 2019 Academy Awards were announced Tuesday morning (that’s today for those of you not reading this from the future) and as always, there were surprises and snubs. To the surprise of no one, Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma leads the pack with 10 nominations, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ strange and loved The Favourite is close behind with eight nominations. Adam McKay-directed Vice generated seven nominations, along with Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born, but what is surprising is that Marvel’s Black Panther also nabbed seven.

The awards ceremony is just over a month from now, and the Oscars are still without a host after the Kevin Hart controversy. But the latest rumor is that the Academy is hoping to gather as many of the cast of the MCU as possible to introduce various segments during the awards ceremony, hopefully killing two birds with one stone: getting audiences interested and covering the lack of a dedicated host. We’ll find out in a month, but if they pull it off, it could end up being one of the more entertaining (and audience friendly) awards ceremonies in years.
