It’s been five long years since we were gifted with The LEGO Movie and as such, we are so, so ready for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part to finally hit theaters on February 8. Thankfully, the first trailers for The LEGO Movie 2 confirm that many of our favorite actors are back on board for the sequel, including Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, and Will Arnett. We’ll also get to hear from some new actors like Tiffany Haddish and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Stephanie Beatriz, who both lend their vocal chops to the villains of this sequel.

But new cast members aren’t the only exciting thing about The LEGO Movie 2. This time around, the world of The LEGO Movie is expanding, taking our characters to new parts of the LEGO universe on a quest that will surely give way to some fun and wild hijinks. Per the trailer, we know that the Duplo invaders from the first movie have turned Bricksburg into a Mad Max-like desert, with the Bricksburg citizens struggling to survive. One day, they’re invaded by General Mayhem and a small team from Systar System after Emmett does something predictably foolish to draw their attention to Bricksburg. Mayhem proceeds to capture Bricksburg’s most capable fighter (and Emmett’s love interest), Lucy, bringing her back to Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi. Emmett sets out on a quest to save Lucy and defeat Watevra, but as with all things LEGO Movie, you can expect that Emmett’s quest is going to have a lot of obstacles that he will fumble to get through to hilarious effect.

Take a look below to see which of your favorite LEGO characters you can expect to see in the upcoming sequel, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

Emmett (Chris Pratt)

It wouldn’t be a Lego movie without our adorably daffy hero, the very average Emmett, returning to once again save the day.

Rex Dangervest (also Chris Pratt)

Also voiced by Pratt, Rex Dangervest is the “galaxy-defending, archaeologist, cowboy raptor trainer” who arrives on the scene to help Emmett save Lucy (aka Wyldstyle). It’s also a nice little in-joke that the descriptors used for Rex also refer back to famous Pratt characters: “galaxy-defending” refers to Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy; “cowboy” refers to Josh Faraday from The Magnificent Seven; and “raptor trainer” is a reference to Owen from Jurassic World.

Lucy/Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks)

Elizabeth Banks will once again lend her voice to Lucy (a.k.a. “Wyldstyle”) in The LEGO Movie 2, where she becomes the damsel-in-distress figure for a hot sec, getting kidnapped by General Mayhem and compelling Emmett to go on a quest to save her.

Batman

Oh, you really thought that Batman (Will Arnett) wouldn’t come back for The LEGO Movie 2? Bruce Wayne will be back and ready to jump in to save the day by giving Emmett the backup only a trained caped crusader can give.

Benny (Charlie Day)

Charlie Day is back to voice Benny, the ‘80s-inspired LEGO astronaut who is a lovable goof ready to help Emmett save the day.

Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi (Tiffany Haddish)

The villain of The LEGO Movie 2 will be voiced by comedian Tiffany Haddish: Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi. A shapeshifting alien queen of the Systar System, she’s responsible for kidnapping Lucy and sending Emmett on his mission to get his girl back.

General Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz)

Stephanie Beatriz will be lending her voice to General Mayhem, who works for Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi and looks like a total badass if those trailers are anything to go by.

Unikitty & Ultrakitty (Alison Brie)

Unikitty (Alison Brie) is back to help Emmett on his quest, but it looks like we’ll be introduced to a similar character, Ultrakitty, also voiced by Brie. Where Unikitty is all pink and sweet, Ultrakitty looks like an angry space viking. Color us very curious about how this will play out!

Metalbeard (Nick Offerman)

Nick Offerman is back to voice Metalbeard, the pirate we first met in The LEGO Movie who now appears to be helping Emmett get Lucy back from the clutches of Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi.

President Business (Will Ferrell)

Will Ferrell is back as President Business, the evil businessman who ruled over Bricksburg in the first LEGO Movie.

The Justice League: Superman, Aquaman, The Green Lantern, Wonder Woman

If Batman is back for the sequel, then you know that the rest of the Justice League isn’t far behind. Keep an eye out for Superman (Channing Tatum), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Green Lantern (Jonah Hill), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) as you watch The Lego Movie 2.

Lex Luthor (Ike Barinholtz)

Famed villain Lex Luthor will pop up in The LEGO Movie 2 but when he’s voiced by Ike Barinholtz, he may not be as intimidating as his other iterations – but definitely more hilarious.

Alfred Pennyworth (Ralph Fiennes)

Where Batman goes, Alfred Pennyworth follows! Ralph Fiennes will be reprising his role as Batman’s trusted butler for the sequel.

Ice Cream Cone (Richard Ayoade)

According to IMDb, Richard Ayoade is slated to voice Ice Cream Cone who, judging from the digging we did, is going to be Team Unikitty and one of her friends.

Abraham Lincoln (Will Forte)

It looks like Abraham Lincoln will be back for the sequel. As an enemy of the nefarious President Business, we can expect Honest Abe to be on the side of Emmett and his friends.

Enthusiastic Zebra (Jimmy O. Yang)

You couldn’t spot him in the trailers, but Enthusiatic Zebra is a new character that got a few lines in the “The Song That Will Get Stuck In Your Head” featurette. We’re not sure yet whether or not he’s good or bad, but either way, he’s definitely enthusistic about everything happening.

Banana Peel (Actor unknown)

As seen in one the trailers for The LEGO Movie 2, there’s a character called Banana Peel who can’t stop slipping and falling. Expect plenty of sight gags from this one, folks.

Bruce Willis (uh…Bruce Willis)

Along with famed athletes Sheryl Swoopes and Gary Payton, Bruce freaking Willis is slated to appear in The LEGO Movie 2 as himself. It’s unclear if these three will show up in human or LEGO form but we really hope its the latter.

There you have it! These are all of the LEGO characters we can expect to see popping up in The LEGO Movie 2, but we can’t be certain there won’t be more than a few cameos made by LEGOs we didn’t plan on seeing. We can’t wait to meet these LEGO characters, just like we can’t wait to see what this movie has in store for us.
