Disney’s Aladdin remake dropped a new, Genie-filled trailer this week and showed off what looks like a giant version of villain Jafar’s lackey – the parrot Iago – chasing after Aladdin in an action-packed set piece. If that is indeed Iago, we now know who will voice him.

Alan Tudyk will lend his considerable vocal talents to the role, reports THR. Tudyk is no stranger to Disney, having lent his voice to such animated hits as Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph. He is best known among fans as the pilot Wash from Joss Whedon’s TV series, Firefly, and as the voice of the reprogrammed Imperial droid K-S20 in Rogue One. He’s also our favorite dodgeball-playing pirate in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

Tudyk will also be voicing the Joker in the new Harley Quinn animated series over at DC Universe.

In the original animated film, Gilbert Gottfried voiced the always-yappy Iago, who had a hand in scheming with Jafar to make life especially difficult for Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. Given Tudyk’s considerable talent, we expect him to deliver a very unique take on the Disney sidekick/villain and to provide quite a bit of comedic relief in the process.

Aladdin arrives in theaters May 24. Grab your tickets here.
