One of Christopher Nolan’s favorite actors is going to face off against the most noise-sensitive monsters ever.

Cillian Murphy (Inception, Batman Begins) is in talks to join Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place 2 for director and writer John Krasinski. The Hollywood Reporter had the casting exclusive.

The plot of the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror hit is being kept in a sound-proof bunker, but we do know that Murphy will play a man with “mysterious intentions who joins the family unit” lead by Blunt’s matriarch.

He and Blunt will also be joined by child actors Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who are reprising their roles from the first film as the children of Blunt’s character. Krasinski will also be writing the sequel (he originally did a rewrite on Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ A Quiet Place script).

The first movie was a sleeper hit last year, grossing $340 million worldwide on a budget of $17 million — and spawning a promising franchise along the way.

Paramount Pictures is eying a summer 2019 shoot for the sequel, which is slated to arrive in theaters May 15, 2020.
