While the deal isn&#8217;t finalized, Variety reports that Webb is the studio&#8217;s top choice.<\/p>\n<p><em>Girl on the Train<\/em> screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is currently in negotiations to pen the script for the remake of the 1938 animated hit. But the news that us most excited? This reimagining will feature new music from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the guys behind <em>The Greatest Showman<\/em> and\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em>, who, coincidentally, also co-wrote Jasmine&#8217;s new song &#8220;Speechless&#8221; for <em>Aladdin <\/em>with longtime Disney composer Alan Menken.<\/p>\n<p>Like\u00a0<em>Cinderella<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em> before it, this new\u00a0<em>Snow White<\/em> will be a live-action\/CG-hybrid that reimagines Disney&#8217;s first Princess in an updating of her classic Brothers Grimm story. <em>Snow White and the Seven Dwarves<\/em> was released in 1937 and became a huge hit at the box office &#8212; it launched Disney on the path to being, well, Disney.<\/p>\n<p>This project is a cash grab for Disney&#8217;s valuable IP, sure, and it also represents a great opportunity for fans and actors to bring the iconic Seven Dwarfs to life. Peter Dinklage as Grumpy and Sam Rockwell as Dopey, please &#8212; we are not taking questions at this time.<\/p>\n<p>While no release date has been announced yet, fans can bet on seeing\u00a0<em>Snow White<\/em> in theaters sometime in 2021.
