And he\u2019s not alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Warner Bros. builds on the shared \u201cMonsterVerse\u201d they started with 2014\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Godzilla<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and 2017\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kong: Skull Island<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8212; that the original Toho series pioneered in 1954 &#8212; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/godzilla-king-of-the-monsters\/192801\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Godzilla: King of the Monsters<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is bringing three more iconic Titans to the big screen. Here\u2019s all you need to know about Rodan, Mothra, and the big bad King Ghidorah. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Rodan<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Feature Film Debut: <\/b><b><i>Rodan<\/i><\/b><b> (1956)<\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1090px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog-proxy.atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/RodanFINAL.jpg\" width=\"1080\" height=\"675\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Credit: WB)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Originally called Radon, Rodan is a giant Pteranodon who stands with a wingspan of 871 feet. The Titan\u2019s wings are so big, they can come together to create thunderclaps strong enough to shatter whole cities. Yup, this guy is not messing around.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He first met Godzilla in 1964\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where the two monsters battled each other in between waging a small war on the same city. Eventually, they were convinced by Mothra to put aside their differences and fight for the greater good against Ghidorah. It\u2019s your classic superhero team-up trope: Enemies become friends and allies just in time to take out the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">real <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">threat. We\u2019re not sure how closely <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">King of the Monsters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 Rodan will follow this arc, but the trailers hint that a team-up isn\u2019t out of the question. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Mothra<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Feature Film Debut: <\/b><b><i>Mothra <\/i><\/b><b>(1961)<\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog-proxy.atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Mothra_Godzilla.gif\" width=\"800\" height=\"337\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Credit: WB)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Titans go, Mothra is arguably the most interesting and complex. This giant moth is the Queen of the Monsters, and people in her and Godzilla\u2019s world worship her like a goddess. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As glimpsed in the trailers for the new movie, Mothra possesses bioluminescent wings that can harness powerful energy rays that she can then shoot. Mothra is an ally to both Godzilla and Earth, and while she may initially tussle with Godzilla in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">King of the Monsters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, expect the two of them to team up for an epic showdown opposite the three-headed menace threatening to turn our world into his chew toy. Speaking of three-headed menaces\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>King Ghidorah<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Feature Film Debut: <\/b><b><i>Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster<\/i><\/b><b> (1964)<\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1090px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog-proxy.atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Ghidorah.jpg\" width=\"1080\" height=\"675\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Credit: WB)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Antagonists don\u2019t get much bigger (literally) than this guy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ghidorah and his energy-spewing triple heads have been a thorn in Godzilla\u2019s side for over 50 years. The monster\u2019s three heads and two tails give him a formidable edge over Godzilla &#8212; as many an innocent bystander caught in the middle of one of their epic brawls can attest to. In his debut movie, Ghidorah was a creature who came to Earth to destroy it. It fell upon the shoulders of Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra to combine their forces and defeat him. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">King of the Monsters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is changing up his origin story. He is considered \u201cMonster Zero\u201d of this world, the first Titan ever. Frozen in ice for hundreds of years, a rogue agent of MONARCH &#8212; the agency charged with tracking and monitoring these beasts &#8212; seems to have thawed Ghidorah out and it\u2019s up to Godzilla to stop him and save us. If Ghidorah wins, the human race loses.
