Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Idina<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Menzel) might have spent their childhood\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">at odds<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, but\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">there<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">isn\u2019t a force on Earth (or in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Arendelle<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">) that could get in the way of the love between two sisters bringing them closer together than ever.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>3. The latter\u2019s frustrations grow from feeling unable to escape the former\u2019s considerable and more successful shadow \u2013 and all of this comes to a head when the two find themselves on the same all-female baseball team, the Rockford Peaches.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kit soon leaves the Peaches to join a rival team, where an important game gives her a shot at the spotlight. Here, Dottie sacrifices her personal glory (and her team\u2019s) by seemingly, purposefully, dropping the ball so her little sister can have the big win. The moral debate of putting the needs of the one ahead of the many aside, Dottie\u2019s act is a selfless one that proves some actions say \u201cI love you\u201d louder than the words ever could. While this movie argues \u201cthere\u2019s no crying in baseball,\u201d this scene made it so there wasn\u2019t a dry eye in the theater.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>4. Ironically, the disruption Stitch represents in their lives is the very thing that helps bring them closer together, just in time for a Disney happy ending.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>5. But, tucked inside this retelling of Shakespeare\u2019s The\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Taming of the Shrew<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0is a compelling and timeless story of sisterly love.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Kat (Julia Stiles) and Bianca (Larisa\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Oleynik<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">) spend most of the film wanting to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">figuratively (and sometimes literally)\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">tear each other apart<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Bianca wants for nothing more than to fit in and be popular and she&#8217;s always embarrassed by her prickly, antisocial big sister, Kat. Kat, on her end, is annoyed by how shallow Bianca acts. By the end of the film, however, the sisters find a way to accept and love each other despite themselves. Kat even beams with pride at one point that her little sis knows how to throw a right hook: \u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sorry \u2018bout your nose, model boy.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>6. Gamora &amp; Nebula\u00a0in \u2018Guardians of the Galaxy\u2019 (2014)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CMU9urWaiDc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At first blush, there\u2019s no saving or fixing the rivalry between sisters\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gillan<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. But we can\u2019t blame them; their animosity stems from their \u201cdad\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Thanos<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who kidnapped them and often forced them to battle each other to prove themselves. Not helping matters was the painful modifications Nebula was forced to endure, per the Titan\u2019s wishes, when she was often bested by Gamora.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">No one\u2019s coming out of that relationship with at least seven different types of resentment. And despite years of animosity, of feeling second-rate, their messy and painful story found some resolution in\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After a generous round of punching and Gamora unloading an oversized space gun on her sister (naturally) and Nebula unloading a lifetime&#8217;s worth of brutal resentment,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Thanos<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2019 adopted daughters located their love for one another under all their hate. Sisters\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman) couldn\u2019t be more different in both their personalities and their ideals, but the two must come together when Gillian\u2019s ex stirs up\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">considerable\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">trouble. Th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e drama he creates helps the two endearing characters wrap up a unique story about\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">magic, acceptance<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and true love.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On their own, each one of these women is a force to be reckoned with.
