The only question is: <em>How<\/em> big?<\/p>\n<p>The Marvel sequel has hit tracking and pundits are predicting an opening weekend in the range of $200 to $250 million, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2019\/04\/avengers-endgame-u-s-opening-weekend-projections-can-sequel-get-close-to-300m-1202588329\/\">Deadline<\/a>. That feels very conservative, seeing as how\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/avengers-infinity-war\/198438\"><em>Infinity War<\/em><\/a> opened to $257.6 million, which earned that film the all-time opening weekend record.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HxdlFQ4feAY?start=41&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Given that <em>Endgame<\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0advanced ticket sales obliterated records earlier this week with a snap of Thanos&#8217; finger \u2013 er, sorry \u2013 click of your mouse,\u00a0Deadline observes that it is quite possible\u00a0<em>Endgame<\/em> will creep past $260 million. And a domestic opening weekend in the vicinity of $300 million could also be in the cards. If any of those numbers pan out, the Russos&#8217; movie would best <em>Infinity War<\/em> and\u00a0have the biggest domestic opening weekend in the history of movies.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its rumored three hours-and-two-minute runtime,\u00a0<em>Endgame<\/em> can hit these crazy-high numbers. According to\u00a0Deadline&#8217;s analysts, the math provided by them supports these projections based on the movie having &#8220;4 to 5 showtimes a day, at a 70 percent capacity at 12,000 U.S. auditoriums.&#8221; And it is safe to assume that Marvel&#8217;s much-anticipated summer blockbuster will open in upward of 4,000 theaters, if not have the biggest theater count ever for a wide release. The current holder of that title is\u00a0<em>Despicable Me<\/em> <em>3<\/em>, which opened in a record-setting 4,529 theaters. (<em>Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom <\/em>opened in\u00a04,475 theaters, while\u00a0<em>Infinity War<\/em> had 4,474).<\/p>\n<p>Judging by internet pre-sales, momentum and interest for\u00a0<em>Endgame<\/em> are crazy-high (a shocker to no one).
