The premise is simply chilling. During a Category 5 hurricane in Florida, a young woman (Kaya Scodelario) has to help her injured father (Barry Pepper) escape the crawlspace of their home before it floods. But alligators have made their way into the flooded town, and they\u2019re hunting the family one by one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paramount\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crawl<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was directed by Alexandre Aja (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hills Have Eyes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piranha 3D<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Horns<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a screenplay by Michael Rasmussen &amp; Shawn Rasmussen, and it was co-produced by Sam Raimi. The cast includes Ross Anderson, Anson Boon, George Somner, and Ami Metcalf.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t Call Shotgun<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NLJuF0PrcMg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista have been rising Hollywood stars over the last few years. Bautista transitioned from the WWE into becoming a \u201cguardian of the galaxy,\u201d and Nanjiani went from HBO\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Silicon Valley <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to being the lead of his own personal story in the hit comedy <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Big Sick<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/stuber\/274996\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stuber<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Nanjiani is once again an Uber driver (like in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bick Sick<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), but his latest rideshare (Bautista) is a gung-ho cop who forces him to tag along on an action-packed adventure through the criminal underworld, even though all he wants is a five-star rating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20th Century Fox\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stuber <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was directed by Michael Dowse (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take Me Home Tonight<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Goon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What If<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a screenplay by Tripper Clancy, and it was produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spider-Man: Homecoming<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Game Night<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). The first two <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anabelle <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">movies dove deep into what specifically caused the doll to become cursed, but <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/annabelle-comes-home\/289656\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anabelle Comes Home <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">explores how the doll is also a beacon that can wake other demons up, specifically in the famed artifact room of demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the directorial debut of Gary Dauberman, who also wrote the film and has been writing a lot of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conjuring <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">universe films since the first <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annabelle <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 2014, as well as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the upcoming <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It Chapter Two<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The cast includes Ed Sheeran (as himself), Kate McKinnon, James Corden (as himself), and Lamorne Morris.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now In Limited Release<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alex Holmes\u2019s sailboat racing documentary <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/maiden\/278280\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maiden <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Sony Pictures Classics), which centers around the real story of Tracy Edwards, hits select theaters this weekend. Plus, Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts star in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/ophelia\/263835\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ophelia <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(IFC Films), a new Hamlet-inspired film directed by Claire McCarthy and based on the novel of the same name by Lisa Klein.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 21<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Toys Are Back In Town<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2010, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toy Story <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trilogy wrapped up in just about the best way possible. Critics loved <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toy Story 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and so did audiences, as the film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Pixar movies of all time. So the announcement of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/toy-story-4\/164756\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toy Story 4 <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">naturally raised a few eyebrows. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why make another one of these movies when the trilogy already ended so well? Turns out, Pixar still has some tricks up its sleeve with this franchise, as critics are already raving about <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toy Story 4<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> becoming yet another instant favorite from the Emeryville-based studio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The movie, directed by Josh Cooley (writer of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inside Out<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), continues the story of Woody and the gang as they help their new owner, Bonnie, cope with the pressures of kindergarten. Along the way, they have to protect the confused and befuddled \u201cForky,\u201d a new favorite toy Bonnie \u201cmade\u201d in class. But Forky has no intention of leaving where he thinks he truly belongs: the trash. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cast includes a lot of familiar voices, plus some newcomers: Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, Tim Allen, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves, and many more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/toy-story-4-review\/\">Read Atom Insider&#8217;s review of <em>Toy Story 4<\/em>.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s Slaytime<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Child\u2019s Play <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">movies, starting with the first one in 1988, <a href=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/childs-play-chucky-most-ridiculous-kills\/\">have always been true to the \u201cplay\u201d aspect of their title<\/a>. Yes, they\u2019re horror films, through and through, but there\u2019s always been an inherent silliness to these movies about a \u201cChucky\u201d doll that has been possessed by a serial killer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though apparently similar to the original in tone, the 2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/childs-play\/283503\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Child\u2019s Play <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reboot from Orion Pictures features an updated \u201ckiller doll\u201d as a more high-tech version named \u201cBuddi,\u201d voiced by Mark Hamill, who suddenly becomes self-aware and capable of turning the A.I. technology of the \u201csmart home\u201d into a weapon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The film was directed by Lars Klevberg (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Polaroid<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith, based on characters created by Don Mancini. The cast includes Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Anna\u2019 And The Assassination<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">French director Luc Besson didn\u2019t exactly win the box office summer two years ago with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but his new thriller, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/anna\/277594\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anna<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, appears to be borrowed in spirit from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atomic Blonde<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, another 2017 summer action film. In this movie about government assassins, newcomer Sasha Luss plays the titular role as a woman whose incredible beauty also matches her incredible combat prowess.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to directing, Luc Besson wrote the film, which is being released by EuropaCorp. The cast includes Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy, and Helen Mirren. With music by \u00c9ric Serra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now In Limited Release<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re looking for something a little more low key this weekend, be sure to keep an eye out for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wild Rose<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a new music drama coming from Neon. This is the latest film directed by Tom Harper (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">War Book<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), and it stars Jessie Buckley (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beast<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and the legendary Julie Walters.
