Jason Blum, the producer behind the Oscar-winning\u00a0Get Out<\/em> and the 2018\u00a0Halloween<\/em><\/a> rebootquel, is in the early stages of hopefully bringing two more iconic horror movie franchises back to the big screen: Scream<\/em> and\u00a0Hellraiser<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, we definitely have [discussed it],\u201d Blum told\u00a0CinemaBlend <\/em><\/a>in a recent interview.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re looking — there\u2019s nothing happening with either one of those things — but we\u2019re definitely looking at it, and it\u2019s definitely something I\u2019d be open to.\u201d<\/p>\n

To be clear: Ghostface and Pinhead are nowhere near the vicinity of a greenlight yet; it’s just kind of a big deal \u2013 even at this stage \u2013 to consider the possibilities of their return under the banner of Blumhouse’s production model. The company has done for horror what Marvel Studios has done for comic book movies. They turn low-budget productions into box office hits, including record-breaking Halloween<\/em>, the Insidious<\/em> series, and, most recently,\u00a0Glass<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Scream<\/em> franchise last hit the big screen in 2011 with\u00a0the underrated\u00a0Scream 4<\/em>.\u00a0Hellraiser\u00a0<\/em>has been around since the ’80s, with the first film directed by horror legend Clive Barker and based on his own novella.<\/p>\n

Blum and his company are currently trying to retool Universal Studio’s Monsterverse<\/a>, which stalled out with 2017’s\u00a0The Mummy<\/em> starring Tom Cruise. The first film on their docket for that is\u00a0The Invisible Man<\/em>, from\u00a0Upgrade<\/em> writer-director Leigh Whannell. So horror fans will likely have to wait sometime before anything comes to fruition regarding any big screen reboots of Scream<\/em> and Hellraiser<\/em>. But when it does? Expect audiences to drop a lot of “take all my money” GIFs.<\/p>\n
