This week has something for just about everyone, including an animated family film, an action thriller, a fantasy rom-com, and even a horror movie.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chris Pratt Is Back For Another Block Party<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xSz4xnQlEAY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2014, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lego Movie <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">surprised just about everyone. We thought it was just going to be just another generic kids film trying to sell kids toys, but instead, we got a hilarious, heartfelt love letter about growing up that was meaningful to parents, kids, and everyone in between. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The question over a sequel was practically a given, and even though we\u2019ve gotten two spinoffs in the meantime with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lego Batman Movie <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lego Ninjago Movie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Warner Bros. has finally come out with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/the-lego-movie-2-the-second-part\/209281\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which continues the adventures of Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and all their friends in and around Bricksburg. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first film\u2019s directors were Phil Lord &amp; Chris Miller, who are only co-writers this time around along with Matt Fogel. The director for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Second Part<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is Mike Mitchell, whose filmography ranges from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deuce Bigalow <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(definitely not a film you\u2019d think of when it comes to this genre) to the fourth <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shrek<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sky High<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and even <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trolls<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It\u2019s also been reported that Trisha Gum, an art department coordinator who worked on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lego Batman Movie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, also helped direct, though she\u2019s not officially credited. Regardless, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Second Part<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <a href=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/the-lego-movie-2-review\/\">already getting universal acclaim from critics<\/a>, as well as audiences attending early screenings. If you\u2019re a fan of the first film\u2019s wacky humor and self-satirical writing, you\u2019ll probably want to get the whole family to see what the \u201csecond part\u201d is all about.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liam Neeson Is In \u2018Cold Pursuit\u2019 Of Revenge<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZHI8sRfZgeo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ever since <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taken <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was a surprise hit at the box office over a decade ago, Liam Neeson has gotten plenty of roles as an action star in tense, low-budget thrillers. But for the first time in a while, his latest film <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/cold-pursuit\/277644\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cold Pursuit<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is getting uniquely positive buzz from critics, mainly because on top of good action, <a href=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/cold-pursuit-review\/\">it might actually have some tonally consistent humor<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new film from Lionsgate centers around Nels Coxman (Neeson), a snow plower who goes on a vengeance-fueled rampage against the drug lords connected to his son\u2019s untimely death. Hailed as an \u201cice-cold\u201d vigilante in the film, Neeson is joined by an incredible cast: Laura Dern, Tom Bateman, Emmy Rossum, William Forsythe, Julia Jones, and Raoul Max Trujillo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Originally titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hard Powder<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cold Pursuit <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a remake of a Norwegian film called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Order of Disappearance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. And fittingly enough, it\u2019s directed by Hans Petter Moland, the same director of the original film. That definitely doesn\u2019t happen all that often. Based on what we\u2019re hearing from early reviews, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cold Pursuit <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">looks like a creatively vicious good time at the movies if you\u2019re in the mood for something a bit more mature.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taraji P. Henson Discovers \u2018What Men Want\u2019<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HeoLiTirRp4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember that early 2000s Nancy Meyers film where Mel Gibson mysteriously obtains the power to read minds, but <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">only <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">women\u2019s minds? Yeah, us too, unfortunately. But as a spiritual successor to a film that has probably aged&#8230;poorly, Paramount\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/what-men-want\/261967\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Men Want <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reverses the rules into a comedy that might just be worth your time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taraji P. Henson stars as Ali, a sports agent who is sick and tired of being excluded from the \u201cboys club\u201d at her workplace. Through the aid of a rare kind of tea (and unexpected head trauma), she\u2019s able to read the mind of any man she comes into contact with and uses this mysterious ability to get ahead in her career and relationships. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Men Want <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has quite a few things going for it. The cast, including Henson, is pretty strong and includes Aldis Hodge, Richard Roundtree, Max Greenfield, Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Tracy Morgan, along with some fun cameos. It\u2019s also directed by Adam Shankman, who\u2019s known for some great &#8217;90s and &#8217;00s comedies like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Wedding Planner<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pacifier<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hairspray<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We do know, of course, that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/the-prodigy\/276341\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prodigy <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is directed by Nicholas McCarthy (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pact<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the Devil\u2019s Door<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and written by Jeff Buhler. It\u2019s about a mother (Taylor Schilling) who tries to save her young kid (Jackson Robert Scott) from an evil spirit possessing him. If you\u2019re in the mood for a jump-scare horror film about the supernatural, then you\u2019re in luck this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stay tuned next week for our recap of how these movies fared at the box office.
