It&#8217;s also interesting in that feelings about movies evolve over time: Some that were box office hits at the time fade from our collective consciousness, others that didn&#8217;t fare well at the time of release have grown to be considered classics in the years since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The folks at online marketplace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onbuy.com\/gb\/\">OnBuy<\/a> decided to figure out which movies from each year for the last half-century are the highest-rated today. Combing through the rankings of IMDb movie ratings, they put together this list. To make it easier, I&#8217;ve broken it up by decade and put in bold which movie from each decade is highest-rated. The Shawshank Redemption (9.3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see, there&#8217;s a tie if not an outright bottleneck for almost every single spot, which just goes to show you how excellent <em>The Godfather<\/em> and <em>The Shawshank Redemption<\/em> are that they so clearly stand above the rest in the #2 and #1 spots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you agree with the rankings for each decade?
