Earlier this year, Elisabeth Moss and Blumhouse made magic with Leigh Whannell-directed The Invisible Man.<\/em> Typical of the Blumhouse model, the thriller was made for a trim $7 million and went on to gross over $130 million globally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moss and Blumhouse are now reteaming on a new project. THR<\/a> reports Moss will star in Mrs. March<\/em>, a psychological thriller based on the upcoming novel of the same name by Virginia Feito. It follows the story of a wealthy, polished, Upper East Side housewife whose world unravels when she begins to suspect the awful protagonist in her novelist husband’s newest best-selling novel is based on her. Feito will adapt the screenplay of her own book, which is set for release August 2021 from Norton’s Liveright imprint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moss and Lindsey McManus will produce under their Love and Squalor banner while Jason Blum will, naturally, be handling producer duties for Blumhouse. Feito, Carla Hacken and Bea Sequeira will executive produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s the sort of material that is a perfect fit for Moss, who has a history of playing complex, sometimes prickly, female characters in stressful situations. The actress was fittingly pumped to bring Feito’s novel to life for Love and Squalor with Blumhouse, as she said in a statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I read Virginia\u2019s novel in one sitting and was so captured by it I knew I had to make it and play Mrs. March. As a character, she is fascinating, complex and deeply human and I can\u2019t wait to sink my teeth into her. Mrs. March is exactly the kind of engaging and challenging female-led project that Love and Squalor Pictures is built to make. As a company, we are thrilled to make our debut announcement in the features space as partners with Blumhouse.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Blum, who is always an enthusiastic collaborator and deeply supportive of filmmakers and actors with vision, had nothing but glowing words for Moss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Not only is Elisabeth one of the finest actors of her generation but she\u2019s an unabashed fan of genre material and an incredible collaborator. Lindsey and Elisabeth have impeccable taste, when they brought us Mrs. March<\/em> we jumped at the chance to work with them.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
