The laws of physics have never applied to\u00a0<em>Fast &amp; Furious<\/em> movies. Cars jump insane distances, death-defying feats are treated with the blas\u00e9 attitudes of someone crossing the street, fights happen on jets, trains, planes, cars and highrises. There&#8217;s not one instance the writers have ever paused and asked themselves, &#8220;Too much?&#8221; The thing that makes it work is that it&#8217;s <em>always<\/em> too much, it positively revels in the too-muchness of itself.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atomtickets.com\/movies\/f9-fast-furious\/226644\"><em>F9<\/em><\/a> trailer dropped today during a special concert event and, as expected, it&#8217;s extra af. So gloriously, unrepentantly extra af.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6LXYSye7Dto?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Come. Still, there&#8217;s no denying that Dom&#8217;s trademark line, &#8220;I live my life a quarter-mile at a time&#8221; is one of the most magnificently cheesy movie lines ever. It&#8217;s doubly sold thanks to Vin Diesel&#8217;s always intensely serious delivery of it, no matter the circumstances.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Letty Gets Bodied By A Truck &amp; Lands On Dom&#8217;s Car<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11601\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Letty is tough as nails, but she&#8217;s apparently been injected with Super Soldier serum in <em>F9<\/em> because she gets hit with a hybrid Army-looking vehicle while she&#8217;s making a jump on her motorcycle and not only is she not somehow completely obliterated, she also manages to miraculously land on top of the hood of Dom&#8217;s car.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Dom Catches A Flying Car<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11602\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Who cares about the laws of physics? Not <em>F9<\/em>! Who cares about what the human body can reasonably withstand? Also not<em> F9<\/em>!<\/p>\n<h2>4. Details. That brother is played by John Cena, who is always a good time in an action movie. Even better is that he apparently comes with a ton of fun toys, including an entire arsenal and all sorts of crazy vehicles.<\/p>\n<h2>5. In this case, it looks like someone was still watching <em>Winter Soldier<\/em> because this scene is hella reminiscent of Cap&#8217;s elevator fight scene. And I, for one, am here for it.<\/p>\n<h2>6. Seriously. Look at this. It&#8217;s a bowl cut. A <em>bowl cut<\/em>. This movie is doing Charlize dirty. In a world where we have figured out how to pilot a rocket and land it on an asteroid hurtling through space at thousands and thousands of miles an hour, we still can&#8217;t get Hollywood wig tech right.<\/p>\n<h2>7. Sean Boswell Is Back<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11599\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-1024x429.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-1024x429.png 1024w, https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-300x126.png 300w, https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-768x322.png 768w, https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-500x210.png 500w, https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM-1080x453.png 1080w, https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-31-at-3.11.58-PM.png 1812w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a brief cameo in <em>Furious 7<\/em>, Sean Boswell is back. Whether or not this will be another cameo scene or a solid supporting role remains to be seen, but it&#8217;s nice to see that in the supposed second-to-last <em>Fast &amp; Furious<\/em> movie, they&#8217;re bringing back all the old favorites (more on that in a bit).<\/p>\n<h2>8. The Rocket Car<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11603\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That there, friends, is a janky rocket strapped to the top of an &#8217;80s model Pontiac Fiero. Why? Who knows! But it sure goes fast. Fast enough to apparently keep up with an actual jet, thereby upholding one of the fundamental tenets of <em>Fast &amp; Furious<\/em>: When all else fails, just add more rocket fuel.<\/p>\n<h2>9. Army Transport Caravan Flip<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11604\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/6.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When I went home to Pittsburgh for Christmas, I got to spend a lot of time with my 2-year-old and 3-year-old nephews who are obsessed with cars. Obsessed. They loved hooking them together, smashing them up, dropping them off dressers and Lego sets, flipping them, crashing them. What I&#8217;m saying is that <em>F9<\/em> is basically the big-budget version of my nephews&#8217; imagination. Amazing.<\/p>\n<h2>10. Driving Up A Collapsing Rope Bridge<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11605\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/7.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If we can&#8217;t have a world in which Dom Toretto can drive an old-model Jeep up a swiftly collapsing and flimsy rope bridge like a beautiful steel bird, I don&#8217;t want to be a part of it.<\/p>\n<h2>11. A Magnet Plane Because Reasons<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11607\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/9.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cipher might have a terrible bowl cut in this movie, but what she loses in haircuts she apparently saves for buying ridiculously cool transport, including a&#8230;a magnet plane? Sure. We&#8217;ll go with &#8220;magnet plane.&#8221; It&#8217;s kind of sweet. John Cena drives straight off a cliff and trusts that Cipher will be there to catch him \u2013 and she does. That&#8217;s a healthy relationship right there.<\/p>\n<h2>12. Car Rope Swing<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11608\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/10.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Somewhere, there&#8217;s a physicist watching this trailer and just screaming &#8220;That&#8217;s not how this works! That&#8217;s not how <em>any<\/em> of this even WORKS!&#8221; at his computer. And he&#8217;d be right. But he&#8217;d also be boring.<\/p>\n<h2>13. HAN IS ALIVE<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11609\" src=\"https:\/\/atomtickets.com\/movie-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/11.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After months (if not years) of speculation, finally we get it: #JusticeforHan.
