This week, we saw a major surprise comeback at the box office, as Disney\u2019s latest live-action remake fell off its throne to make way for the clown prince of Warner Bros.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Top Earner \u2013 \u2018Joker\u2019<\/span><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s already been out for a full month, but <\/span>Joker<\/a> <\/span><\/i>is still on top of the box office in more ways than one. It climbed back up to #1 on the charts with $18.9 million domestically, and its worldwide numbers are looking even more sinister. <\/span>Joker <\/span><\/i>has made $849 million worldwide, which means it could very well hit $1 billion by the end of its run. And that\u2019s without any international numbers boosted by a release in China.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, it\u2019s official. <\/span>Joker <\/span><\/i>is now the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time worldwide<\/a>, ahead of both <\/span>Deadpool <\/span><\/i>movies and the first chapter of <\/span>It<\/span><\/i>. The film is still a bit further down the list in terms of the domestic box office, but it could easily reach #1 in North America sometime in November.<\/span><\/p>\n
