This year, it will be held on Saturday, September 21, and with it being Batman&#8217;s 80th anniversary, there are plans for it to be celebrated all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the coolest stunt for Batman Day is that the Bat-signal will shine in certain cities all over the world. DC and Warner Bros. have announced they&#8217;ll be beaming the famous Bat-signal into the sky once the sun goes down (around 8pm for each city), lighting up landmarks and skyscrapers around the world. DC even unveiled a Batman Bat-Tracker so fans can watch it all unfold in real time, with more info at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dccomics.com\/batman80\">Batman80.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The cities and planned landmarks that will flash the Bat-signal are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Melbourne, Australia at Fed Square facing Flinders Street<\/li>\n<li>Tokyo at MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 at Shibuya Scramble Crossing<\/li>\n<li>Berlin at Potzdamer Platz 11<\/li>\n<li>Paris at Galeries Lafayette<\/li>\n<li>Barcelona at Museu Nacional d\u2019Art de Catalunya<\/li>\n<li>London at the Senate House<\/li>\n<li>S\u00e3o Paulo at Ita\u00fasa &#8211; LMB<\/li>\n<li>New York TBA<\/li>\n<li>Montreal at Complex Dupuis<\/li>\n<li>Mexico City at Torre Reforma<\/li>\n<li>Los Angeles at City Hall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pam Lifford, Warner Bros. president of Global Brands and Experiences, had the following to say about it in a press release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Bat-Signal is easily one of the most recognizable images among all superhero iconography and this is going to be a remarkable sight as we transcend borders, languages and cultures to bring us all together with this single experience. We are proud to send up the Bat-Signal on\u00a0Batman Day\u00a0because it is an important beacon of inspiration that makes us all believe that it\u2019s possible to take hardship and turn it into something good. Batman Day is a global celebration for all the fans.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Along with the global Bat-signal rollout, other events and activities are planned for Batman Day, including a number of events for kids and families. There will also be a panel discussion at Union Square&#8217;s Barnes &amp; Noble in New York City with celebrated Batman writers and artists Scott Snyder,\u00a0Peter J. Tomasi, James Tynion, IV and Brad Walker. It will be moderated by DC Publisher Dan DiDio.<\/p>\n<p>A Batman-themed 5k night run and fan event will be held in Los Angeles (you can sign up for that <a href=\"http:\/\/DCBatmanRun.com\">here<\/a>).
