Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker literally marks the end of an era. And judging by these new pictures and story details revealed in Vanity Fair, director J.J. Abrams is going out with a bang.

The magazine’s cover story Wednesday revealed our first look at Keri Russell’s villainous character, as well as announcing to the world that Oscar-nominee Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) has joined the cast as Allegiant General Pryde, a member of the First Order. These two new characters join fan-favorites Rey, Finn, and Poe as The Rise of Skywalker picks up roughly a year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi — with our new trilogy’s main characters finally together, in one place.

Check out the pics below, along with some key character and story details:

Russell’s Zorry Bliss looks like a mix between Boba Fett in the helmet and the assassin from Attack of the Clones. But cooler and more sinister looking. Her sleek attire and armor indicate that the rumors of her playing some type of bounty hunter are true. She is described as a “masked scoundrel” that we see here on the planet of Kijimi, which is “mountainous and crusted with snow.” The alleyway she is lurking in is called Thieves’ Quarter.

Grant’s villainous General promises a power struggle of sorts between Hux and Kylo Ren, who are not on the best of terms after The Last Jedi ended with the death of Snoke.

We also were given a new look at what is likely going to be the next favorite character: Jannah, played by Naomi Ackie. Here, we see her pulling a Na’vi, aiming a bow-and-arrow atop a hardy orbak alongside Finn (John Boyega). The primitive creatures they ride represent a Return of the Jedi-like callback” to how the Rebels used the Ewoks to defeat the Empire in Episode VI. Does that mean Jannah, Finn and pals are using these badass creatures to battle the First Order?

And, of course, no Star Wars sneak peek is complete without a trip to the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit. Here, we see Lando taking over for Han (RIP) as pilot and Chewie right behind him.

But we’ve saved the best pic for last: An epic lightsaber duel — in the rain! — between Kylo Ren and Rey.
