I watched this without any context because Paul Rudd is my favorite and Nick Jonas was a bonus. I wanted to see how they worked together and this was a great way to show off some skills I didn't know Rudd had! Overall, the language was a little extreme, but cool story.

A heartfelt father-daughter narrative that I didn’t expect among a story of betrayal & two artists living completely different lives. I think there is some wilder potential it could have leaned into but even though they played things safe it was a fun watch. 7.5

John Carney delivers, one more time, a fine moving film about music. Even with the theme and the songs are quite the same in his filmography it's refreshing to enjoy the stories and to listen the music. Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas are great. I like it a lot.

This is a very enjoyable movie, with a very compelling story that lets you connect with the characters. I love how throughout the movie they keep showing the contrast between the lives of the two characters, all around the same thing, but so different.

as a huge music enthusiast, i thought id enjoy this more than i did, although i liked the concert aspect, there was nothing that gripped me, none of the characters were that likeable and i just sort of lost interest.
