Atom User Reviews for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
it was a wild ride tbh 😭 didn’t rly reference the old movies (only talked abt my pookie caesar) so it felt like its OWN movie yk? i loved it tho <3
I’ve watched all Planet of the Apes movies. My favorite was the 1968 original. This “Kingdom of the planet of the apes” is just TRASH. Poor flat actors, terrible plot. Characters introduced and there was no basis for them. Very slow to build any momentum. It made humans out to be dumb or evil and apes to be merciful and superior. It was just more “ posturing” than entertainment. I just wanted to watch a movie and be entertained. It was such a LETDOWN.
Cash grab
I was expecting more.
Definitely entertaining and very tense at the end! Sorta confused to whom the random people were in the intercom room. Ngl May could’ve died and I wouldn’t have batted an eye lmao.
Would have rather they continued the Cesar storyline!
This movie sucks!
Boooo
boring 💤
BORING
Terrible, lack luster movie. Don’t bother, save your $$$$ I was extremely bored watching this and regret spending $40+ to see it. Wes Ball? Please don’t make another one.
Dialog is hard to understand. Eventually figure out what’s going on, but still miss a lot.
it was really slow and the story was very generic and eh.
It’s a waste 3 hrs. One of the worst planet movies
the movie dragged. story was not great
It was a good movie but I was expecting more.
I was really hoping for a nice follow-up from Caesar’s son, Cornelius. Instead, they went too far into the future, giving no context to this storyline. A bit of a miss here.
It was just ok …..
It was a good movie overall; it was like a beginning to a new storyline for the Planet of the Apes franchise. At times, it was a bit slow but I guess that's to be expected since they were essentially building a new story and introducing all new characters. I was originally expecting the story to follow Ceasars son as an adult until the plot actually came out. I would suggest seeing it for yourself because everyone's movie taste is different, but maybe go on discount night just in case you don't like it you won't feel so bad. lol
One again, The Planet of The Apes Universe has proven to be an excellent mirror of our modern social commentary and dynamics. Plus, the visual FX were amazing and action was heartpounding.
Slow and boring. Save your time and money.
Worst movie of the franchise
Tooooo long! A lot of slow areas.
Movie was fine but doesn't really add anything to the universe. This movie introduces characters and concepts that are no longer relevant by the end of the movie because of the events of the film. It was a completely unnecessary addition to the franchise. I hate to be writing this because I love the franchise. The movie was interesting for sure but it just doesn't matter unfortunately. Perhaps the franchise just needs Caesar.
I really liked this and it was very unique although I would have put a backstory to why Caesar was so important
it was cool to keep Cesar legacy alive
Funny but boring
Never get tired of the Apes franchise!
Much better that I expected
Absolutely amazing hopefully there’s a sequel amazing job
must watch. two hours was not enough left me with a lot of questions but excited for the franchise future.
I did like it. The graphics, the storyline and the time lapses.
The first hour was kinda slow. The 2nd hour was OK. . Wait till it comes out
Love the Planet of the Apes movies, and this one makes me want to see what happens next! Praying for another one!
Apes (at last) return to take over the planet (again) in this mesmerizing, environmental sci fi hit!
just ok
I would like a refund. Felt like it was written by AI. Trash. Would have walked out but I paid a lot of money for the experience. Very disappointing. Skip this one if you’re a fan of the franchise.
Very slow to get to the plot & long winded. Loved the references to the 1st movie. Wish they would’ve continued the story of Caesar by allowing Cornelius being the successor. Still a Planet of the Apes Superfan.
What a disappointment this movie was compared to the first three movies of the planet of the apes.
Worth seeing, but kinda slow.
It was good
Good movie, had a lot of ways to interpret it. Would watch again
It was a great movie. Amazing acting, visuals, overall pacing. I think the build-up of the villain could have been better, not a lot of time spent delving into his character. Ending was a bit rushed, but no more than every other movie for the past while. Overall, it was a great movie. I definitely enjoyed watching it, and it was gripping enough to make the time feel short.
Great entry to add to the lore of the franchise. Awesome twist on the human aspect of the story. Fantastic film.
Thought it was really good. However I would a better explanation for the ending,
i only fell asleep once 💯
Best of the ape movies so far.
Great movie and a good direction to take the franchise
King Kong complex
It was just okay room temperature
